Handsome Hounds is owned and run by experienced canine beautician Sue Duffill.  After growing up with dogs (and various other animals), Sue started her career working with dogs at a local boarding kennels.  Then, in 1994, upon completion of her training at The London Academy of Grooming, Sue set up her grooming business initially working from a converted garage at home.  As business rapidly grew it soon became apparent that bigger premises were needed.

After a lot of searching she found the ideal premises here at Spernal Ash in Studley.  The shop is in an excellent location set back off the busy A435 between Studley and Alcester and is really easy to find.  We have clients from nearby Redditch, Alcester, Bidford, Evesham and Bromsgrove and with the shop being so easily accessible we also have clients from places further afield such as Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Worcester and Droitwich.  We even have dogs that travel all the way from Manchester, Southhampton and Dorset!

After a year at the new premises Sue needed part time help and was joined by experienced  groomer, Dawn.  Dawn, has 13 years experience in handling and working with dogs and has previously run her own successful grooming business.

To keep up to date with the latest grooming techniques and equipment Sue attends regular grooming seminars and dog shows.  She is also qualified in Canine First Aid so you can relax knowing your dog is in safe and caring hands. 

Sue has designed the salon to be all open plan and the grooming area is highly visible, you can see in and your dog gets to watch the world go by whilst being pampered. It is important to us that your dog enjoys their grooming session and feels relaxed about being left with us.  We keep the numbers of dogs here at any one time as low as possible and only keep them for as long as it takes to be groomed. We find this is the way to a calm environment which helps reduce any anxiety your dog may have .
